the research
council

The research council advises the board on strategic issues concerning research development and knowledge transfer. It is composed of four dairy production and processing experts and two external advisors familiar with the dairy industry, research and innovation and originating from industry-overseeing departments or any other appropriate organization.

The
committees

The steering committees

Novalait involves its shareholders in monitoring research projects through steering committees composed of knowledge users and stakeholders. The role of steering committees is to orient current research to optimize the potential benefits. The committees also examine the applications of results and investigate strategies to make them known to stakeholders in dairy farms and plants. They design adapted knowledge transfer strategies, including means of dissemination, training and scaling implemented by knowledge transfer- and innovation-oriented industry organizations.

Novalait then takes over to implement the knowledge transfer strategies through its own means of communication (capsules, articles, video, website, forum) in collaboration with its partners for training, consulting services and validation projects on farms and in plants.

Start-up committees

In addition to relying on the creativity of researchers, Novalait develops its own research initiatives, such as chairs to create new researcher positions when an expertise gap is identified. When these initiatives are being developed, committees are established to select the partner research institution, identify the desired expertise profile and design the scientific program in collaboration with the lead. The members of the committees have a thorough understanding of the strategic issues related to the initiative and have the practical and scientific knowledge necessary to orient the research.
