Gilles Bélanger

Research scientist in forage agronomy, D.SC.CRGCS, Agriculture et agroalimentaire Canada

Dr. Gilles Bélanger is a research scientist in forage crop agronomy at the Québec Research and Development Centre of Agriculture and Agri-Food Canada. Dr. Bélanger received his B.Sc. in Agriculture from Université Laval in 1982, his M.Sc. in Crop Science from the University of Guelph in 1984, and his D.Sc. in Plant Ecology from the Université de Paris XI in 1990. His research activities focus on the growth and nutritive value of forage crops, nutrient management, winter survival of perennial crops, impact of climate change, and biomass production from perennial crops. Dr. Bélanger is a Fellow of the Canadian Society of Agronomy and received the Leadership Award of the Canadian Forage and Grassland Association.
