Gilles Fecteau

A graduate of the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine in 1986, Gilles Fecteau completed a fellowship in medicine and bovine surgery in 1987.  After three years as head of clinical training at the Faculty, he completed a residency in internal medicine at the University of California–Davis.  In 1993, he obtained the status of Diplomat from the American College of Veterinary Internal Medicine (ACVIM). He is currently a full professor in the Department of Clinical Sciences at the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine in St-Hyacinthe, QC. In 1999, he received the Pfizer Research Award and, in 2003, he received an award for excellence in teaching from the Université de Montréal. A clinician before all else, Dr. Fecteau’s research focuses on infectious diseases in dairy cattle. In addition, new syndromes affecting cattle have been researched and described under his supervision.
