Quebec City, June 11, 2021. On June 8 and 10, Novalait held the first fully virtual edition of its Forum Techno in conjunction with the IDF International Symposium on Cheese Science and Technology. Over 480 participants registered for the week-long event, including more than 200 active Forum Techno attendees. Participants had access to the latest research results supported by Novalait and its partners from the comfort of their living rooms. The virtual format was nonetheless interactive, as participants interacted live with researchers and immersed themselves in the experience of intelligent couches.
A variety of conferences
Novalait’s research aims to provide practical solutions for farms and dairy plants of all sizes, producing a wide range of products. New ways to improve cow genetics, the use of more digestible alfalfa, the diagnosis of ruminal acidosis and cow longevity were covered during the half-day production session. On the processing side, researchers presented a summary of several years’ research into natural milk microflora and phages. The topics of naturalness, natural antimicrobials and the valorization of milk processing co-products completed the program.
Novalait celebrates its 25th anniversary
In 2020 Novalait celebrated 25 years of investment in research. “For Quebec dairy producers and processors, research is at the heart of solutions. They have put this vision into practice in a particularly effective way by creating a company to invest in R&D, which is equally owned by them,” said Michel Couture, President of Novalait, in his opening remarks.
Students in the spotlight
Congratulations to FIL-CANADA’s Award of Excellence recipients

Our thanks to the evaluators for assessing the students, and to FIL-CANADA for graciously donating the prizes for the students. The awards recognize excellence among professionals trained in Novalait research. Congratulations to the winners!
