The Carbon-Neutral Milk – Living Laboratory is making headlines!

In its March 9, 2025, special report, La Presse highlighted the scope of the collaborative development work between farmers, the scientific community, and other partners to find innovative solutions aimed at reducing the carbon footprint of Quebec dairy farms as part of the Carbon-Neutral Milk – Living Laboratory initiative.

A great recognition for the Carbon-Neutral Milk – Living Laboratory!

The Carbon-Neutral Milk – Living Laboratory brings together farmers, scientists, and other industry partners to develop, test, and evaluate new practices directly on the farm aimed at reducing their carbon footprint and encouraging a large number of producers to commit to carbon neutrality.

This major innovation initiative, supported by research and led by the Les Producteurs de lait du Québec (PLQ), is made possible by $7 million in funding over five years (2023–2028) provided by Agriculture and Agri-Food Canada under the Agricultural Climate Solutions – Living Labs program, as well as a $500,000 contribution from Novalait.

Through the testimonials of Carol Venneman, owner of Craven Farm in the Montérégie region, and Édith Charbonneau, scientific director of the laboratory and professor of animal sciences at Université Laval, these articles highlight the commitment to innovation among Les Producteurs de lait du Québec, who are ready to think outside the box to bring about sustainable transformation in the dairy industry.
